When was the Last Time?

When was the last time that your accountant provided you with a tax planning idea to reduce your tax burden? If you’re like most taxpayers, you probably think you pay too much in taxes. And you’re probably right! You know what they say the definition of crazy is – doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. That is your tax plan!

Most tax professionals do a fine job putting the “right” numbers in the “right” boxes on the “right” forms. But then they call it a day. All to frequently the tax professional answer to the question – “What is the best way to handle my taxes”? The answer “Just pay them!”

It doesn’t matter how good your tax professional is with a stack of receipts on April 15. The real secret to reducing your tax bill is planning. Tax planning is a contact sport. The Government wants more and more of your money to feed “The Machine”. This year don’t settle for just “filing” your return. We are in the final quarter of the tax game this year. It is not too late to try a different approach to get a different and better outcome. Tax planning instead of coloring by the numbers!
